About this plugin

PlainSpeak Accessible Geospatial Companion is an accessibility-first framework for publishing GIS-backed status information in WordPress.

Core philosophy:

Question
→ Answer
→ Optional Exploration

Maps are optional supporting evidence rather than the primary user experience.

Intended Data Model

PlainSpeak Accessible Geospatial Companion is designed for datasets that have already been summarized into reporting metrics.

Typical examples include:

  • Miles of infrastructure by status
  • Projects by phase
  • Assets by condition
  • Counts by category

PlainSpeak presents these summarized values in an accessible, plain-language format and may optionally link to interactive applications for additional exploration.

PlainSpeak is not intended to replace dashboards, reporting systems, or ad-hoc analysis of detailed operational records.

Features

  • Accessibility-first results
  • Compatible with public ArcGIS REST Feature Services
  • Detail-area and rollup-area summary views
  • Static preview images
  • Optional link to explore data interactively
